Updating verizon cell phone 228
climbing a tree, or standing on a ridge or your roof? You can get a little more signal with a high-gain directional antenna, but not tons.
Be sure to check with your cellphone company before installing anything; unless OKed by them, transmitting on their frequencies opens you up to 10k of fines from the FCC.
A great option and cheaper than a more expensive roaming booster if you combine a bluetooth cordless phone .
Also works in area where there is only a few places in your house where you get decent reception.
On the map it does show coverage beginning approximately 100 ft to the west of me, to the east it is a mile or so, north and south are both a 1/2 mile.
I will gladly welcome any and all help on boosters, antennas, etc..
Put your cell on charge near a window or wherever you have reception and use the cordless headsets when you are home. You can Import your phone directory to the cordless phone.
Single stationary boosters can be purchased for under 0.
I don't know if this has been solved or not, but I had the same issue.Edit: Got a badge for returning after over a year, who knew lol Hi, you sound like you know what you are talking about. I want to go to an area where there is no coverage. Is there an antenna that can be mounted on my house, or my roof, or 30' in the air that will (or may) pull the signal? could I then use a repeater or booster to relay signal to my cell phone.in my yard, or my house, or on my dock?THANK YOU Signal less in Minnesota repeater or booster you don't use your phones antenna.I previously had Verizon, moved to an area with a dead zone, and could not receive or make calls from my home. They checked to see if they had similar complaints on streets around me, discovered they had many, and sent me the booster you're talking about for free. You say you contacted Verizon and they "gave" you a booster. There is NO company except Verizon who works on this mountain and I have to go outside my house so the caller can "hear" me. Would LOVE to get this supposed "booster" for free and would like the # to contact to do so.

I have a similar problem with poor signal reception because of reinforced fence around my house, so I'm not sure if there're a lot of similar requests in the neighbourhood and they will be so generous to present me a booster I contacted them a few times and they didn't say a word about offering me anything..I'll let you know how it goes Single stationary boosters can be purchased for under 0.They work great but have to have the phone fixed to the booster.Archived from groups: alt.cellular.verizon (More info? )I see in manual it says that occasionaly you should update yoursoftware using *228.
